A proposal to rename 3’-hydroxycinnamaldehyde as phenol-(m)enal

Abstract: The proper naming of chemical compounds is paramount for conducting science in a serious manner, as well as for the purpose of just screwing around (not to imply that there is any significant difference between the two). In this work, a more appropriate name for 3’-hydroxycinnamaldehyde is proposed.
